Yes, we love Kakuma.........!

I would like to tell people that Kakuma is just a home like any other. It is lovely, full of talents. The refugee status and the policies make it tough though. But yes, we love it!
I am Dhie Lemi, 24 years, old from South Sudan. I was brought to Kakuma in 1997 by my mother as a result of civil war. The energy that everyone has, the spirt of thriving and the way people are struggling to survive is something that I like about Kakuma. What I dislike most are the policies imposed by UNHCR, payment limitation on refugees. We are all equal. Our salaries should also be. I am not employed by UNHCR, but this bothers me a lot. Photography, editing, visiting my relatives, going to the field (football) are the basic activities that I do and they are important to me because they are source of livelihood and also trying to be social. Going to the football field keeps me fit and build me a network and learns me new things every single day. I am a photographer. I tell stories and create memories. I want be become a great artist and I will achieve this by mastering my art and learning every day. I believe I will be okay wherever life takes me. Being Kakuma, my home country or abroad. I just want a place where where my art is accepted. My happiness is to become successful through my struggling. My dream from Kakuma is to see human rights at its peak. To see people from Kakuma becoming successful in life.
