Little Angelina Jolie (13) dreams of helping others
I never met with Angelina Jolie, but I have heard of her kindness. I want to be like her and help others. I want to become a doctor, a computer programmer and a professional poet. But curently I dont have enough good food good healthcare and good learning materials.  I am Abuol Malueth Garang. I am 13 years and I was born in Kakuma. My parents arrived here in 2002. But my father went back to South Sudan, he was soldier, and was killed even before I was born. I have five brothers and four sisters.. I am a student at the Angelina Jolie Primary School in Kakuma. This school supports girls' education. I am going to grade 8 next year. It is a nice school, nurturing girls in various skills, like music, sports, poetry and cultural dance. I never met with Angelina Jolie, but I have heard of her kindness. She is an actress. She has compassion towards girls. She likes girls to be like her. She wants to see girls educated. I want to follow in her way of life. She is a mentor to us. And I will  be a mentor too to other girls in society. I like reading story books, playing volleyball, telling stories with my friends, reciting poems and helping my mum in the house. My family is large and my mother alone cannot afford to provide us with basic needs. Sometimes we just don't eat good food. Lack of good health care is another problem. And I don't get enough learning materials for my studies. I want to change this life in the near future. I want to become a professional neurosurgeon in the future because in South Sudan many people are traumatized by devastating long war. I want to treat these people and free them from mental illness. Secondly, I want to become a professional computer programmer because I want to help one million girls to become coders by 2030. Lastly, I want to become a professional poet. I love poetry because it is used to pass messages of peace to people across the world. I want the world to hear my voice through poetry. I led my school to a national competition here in Kenya. I recited poems. I did well and our school was the best school in poetry in the entire nation. This achievements motivates me to work hard and become a professional poet. We have been taught about seventeen Sustainable Development Goals. I want to work on four of these goals. On climate change for instance. I want to change the climate of places like Kakuma. It is hot and dry. It is not safe for people to live in. I want to change this climate to support human life. I also want to work on gender equality. Many girls do not know their rights. And I want to work on zero hunger. Many people in Africa are living in absolute poverty. Finally I want to work on promoting quality education. I believe it is through quality education that we will change Africa. Lastly, despite all the challenges I am facing in Kakuma, I will never give up. I will work tirelessly in school to achieve my dreams and use education to change my family life and that of African girls.
