One day I will be the news anchor for BBC Africa!
I am station manager at the REF FM KK, a Refugee Radio Station located in Kalobeyei settlement area. My dream since I was a child, is to become a news anchor for BBC Africa one day. I am glad that I got an opportunity to work for REF FM which gives me hope my dream  will becoming a reality one day. am SantosMadhieu, 24 years old and single. I am a South Sudanese by nationality. I fled my home country leaving behind my parents in 2007 as results of war, seeking for a safe place to stay peacefully and to study. I teamed up with some friends who were also getting out to Kenya and after reaching this country, we were directed to Kakuma Refugee Camp where we joined other refugees. What I like most about Kakuma is the fact that everyone enjoys the real peace of mind by sleeping and waking up every morning without fear of any attack from anywhere again. But what I don't like in Kakuma is the status of being called a refugee and knowing that the land you are in is not yours and will never be yours no matter how long you stay. I want to have somewhere I can proudly and comfortably call a home. But I know I left my real home because of civil war, for a home cannot be a home without peace. The memory of Kakuma I will forever keep in mind is the art of different nationalities living and doing things together as families. Lining up for food at the distribution centers and staying together in one block of the community. My daily activities in Kakuma include playing football during leisure time, reading and writing stories. These things are important to me for they make me stay free from stress. And what I like about my activities is that I am able to make people believe in me through what I do and not how I am or where I come from. After my secondary school, I studied journalism and thereafter worked as a writer for Dream Studio Kenya and currently I am working as content generator for REFUNITE Kakuma and as a news broadcaster for REF FM. Through my hard work at REF FM, I am sure to get more connections and reach the highest level I want in life.My dream for Kakuma is to see people prosper in life. I love to tell people that Kakuma has got unique humans with unique abilities. I love the people in Kakuma and I am proud to be one of them!
